Two projects from IUG win the Palestinian Medical Relief Society's grants

The Palestinian Medical Relief Society announced its award-winning research projects within its Assembly to challenge long-term crisis. Three projects received these grants, two of which are in the faculties of Science and Health Sciences at IUG.

Heading the first project, "The Relationship between Polymorphism in the Gene and the Increased Risk of Developing Type II Diabetes in Gaza Strip," is Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shebir - from the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The second project, "Selecting New and Early Diagnostic Signs for Heart Muscle Disorders Associated with Type II diabetes," is headed by Dr. Saee al-Awini of the Faculty of Science.

Prof. Abdelraouf A. Elmanama, vice president of the Research and Postgraduate Affairs, praised the distinction of the researchers at IUG's various colleges. He also thanked the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and welcomed its role in funding research projects that contribute to solving real problems facing the Palestinian community.

Moreover, the long-term crisis project is being implemented in a partnership between the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and Medico International, funded by the Federal Republic of Germany - Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
